KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

PREPARE FOR #NASAO25

To help you prepare for your trip, please find information on convention attire, weather forecast, and helpful tips from the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities below.

CONVENTION ATTIRE

The convention dress code is business casual, but attendees are welcome to dress more comfortably for the Lake Hood Luncheon and the Closing Reception. Alaska weather can change quickly, so we recommend bringing layers to stay comfortable throughout the day.

WEATHER FORCAST

45°F (6°C) / 55°F (13°C) is the average temperature in September. With the cooling temperatures come spectacular colors in autumn. Fall brings more frequent showers, with about 3 inches on average for the whole month of September. A waterproof coat is ideal. While the temperature does cool down in fall, a mid-weight coat should be sufficient.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

NASAO will not be providing a shuttle to/from the airport to the hotel, but we encourage you to connect with fellow attendees through the Whova app to coordinate a ride together.

USING THE WHOVA APP

Back by popular demand, NASAO is using the Whova App for the convention! Download the app to participate in giveaways, stay up-to-date with announcements, and discover who else is attending.

Tips for Wildlife Tourism

Planning to go hiking while in Alaska? The Alaska DOT&PF has a few important tips. Bears are still active, so carry bear spray, which can be purchased in downtown Anchorage at 6th Avenue Outfitters Co-op (note: it is not allowed through TSA). Keep a safe distance from wildlife on the trails, especially moose. And be sure to dress in layers and pack a raincoat to stay warm and dry.
